Klamath County

Klamath County and Southern Oregon's claim to fame is Crater Lake National Park, Oregon's only national park. The county is located in the south/central part of Oregon, and is split into two vastly different environments. On the west side there are snow-capped mountains, and the eastern side of Klamath County is known for it's high desert area.

Like most of Southern Oregon, Klamath County offers a great amount of outdoor recreation including hunting and fishing in the scenic mountains, marshes, lakes and rivers, sight-seeing at the many attractions, including the majestic Crater Lake, the Lava Beds National Monument, or seeing real western history at a number of museums. There are now twenty one caves that are open in Klamath County alone for viewing pleasures. Bird watching is another past-time enjoyed often by visitors to Klamath County, these birds include even the bald-eagle.
